Dates in the year
- Keep an accident book for every injury at work.
- Keep a record of every reportable incident and every over-3-day injury for at least three years.
A case, judged
A worker cuts their hand and has first aid only: Accident book entry. Nothing to report to HSE.
If it keeps them off work for 8 days: Accident book: Over-7-day injury. HSE, by 20 Oct 2026, on the RIDDOR online report: injury or dangerous occurrence.
Athena proposes the answer and shows the rule it used. A person decides, and only a person sends anything to HSE.
